Sandy Evans @ Foundry616
This is a gig I am very much looking forward to! Sandy Evans is one of the icons of the Australian Jazz scene, an amazing saxophonist and incredible woman! Sandy has recently returned from tours of the USA and Canada and for this gig will be joined by long standing band members the sensational Alister Spence on piano and the fantastic Toby Hall on drums. These are three players I have followed and admired my entire musical life and I am honoured to be able to join for this.
This will also be my inaugural gig at the brand new jazz venue Foundry 616, recently opened in Ultimo by former SIMA artistic directer Peter Rechniewski. For more information and to book tickets you can head to the link below. It would be wonderful if you could make it out to check out the new venue and hear some tunes!
YWJW Final Concert for 2013!
Last thursday we had the final concert to round off the Young Women’s Jazz Workshop series. The workshops ran every Saturday for two months at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, designed to help foster young womens’ love and involvement in jazz and improvised music along with like minded peers . I was so proud of my girls who put on an excellent first set playing some real jazz classics from Out of Nowhere to the burning Bernie’s Tune! They Nailed it! The wonderful Karen Steains captured some great images from the night, including the one above, and the full gallery can be found at the link below!
WELL DONE LADIES!

Katie Noonan – Songs That Made Me – Preview Season in October
This october I am honoured to be playing with the amazing Katie Noonan, Thelma Plum, Ella Hooper, and Abby Dobson for the preview season of their new show “Songs that Made Me”.
Songs That Made Me brings together four of Australia’s finest female singer/songwriters to share stories of their influences, artistic journeys and the landmark songs (by themselves and others) that have soundtracked their lives. The four singers share the stage for the entire show and collaborate naturally as they tell the stories of – and perform, some of the key songs that have shaped their lives.
The concert will be at the Camelot Lounge in Marrickville on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of October! For more details you can head to the venue website!
